Meet our Yellow Tree Yoga Teachers
E-RYT, Founder of Yellow Tree Yoga Center and Director of the RYS Program.
Mary has been living and practicing yoga for over 15 years. She began practicing Vinyasa yoga with Elizabeth Silas in 2008 and trained to teach in 2009.
Mary teaches many of the Vinyasa classes and special class offerings at Yellow Tree. She combines the influences from the great teachers under whom she studied with her attention to alignment, deep stretch and the more subtle elements of yoga into her classes. Mary has trained extensively with many teachers and has earned continuing education hours and certification in pre-natal yoga, trauma sensitive yoga, restorative, yin and more.
Mary opened Yellow Tree Yoga in downtown Troy as a way to spread the wisdom of yoga and share the ideals of living in harmony with the natural world within our local community.
Bethel completed her 200-hour teacher training with Elizabeth Silas Yoga in 2013. She teaches gentle yoga at Yellow Tree Yoga. Her classes are breath-centered, slower-paced, and relaxing. Blocks, blankets, bolsters, and the wall are used to provide support.
RYT-200 and Certified Ayurvedic Counselor
Lia teaches the Sunrise classes at Yellow Tree Yoga. She incorporates the teachings of Ayurveda into her Vinyasa practices as well as her knowledge from personal training . Lia shares her Ayurveda through special seasonal programs at Yellow Tree Yoga.
Jennifer has been practicing and studying yoga since 2002. In 2010 she completed her 200-hour teacher training at the Yellow Springs Studio in Yellow Springs, OH. She has studied both Iyengar & Kripalu yoga and draws upon these two styles to design her classes. She also draws inspiration from some of her favorite teachers including Amy Weintraub, Stephen Cope, and Judith Hanson Lasater.
RYT-200, Certified Pre-natal and Certified Children’s Yoga Teacher
Davina completed her 200-hour teacher training at Yellow Tree Yoga in 2015. She specializes in family-centered yoga and has been certified in Prenatal and Children’s Yoga. Her practices are focused on supporting mothers, babies and children through significant moments of life. The techniques used in prenatal and children’s yoga can provide countless benefits for the overall well-being for the entire family.
Laura completed her 200 hour teacher training at Yellow Tree Yoga in 2015. After mentoring for several months at Yellow Tree Yoga, Laura has settled into teaching basic vinyasa slow flow classes. After practicing for many years, she prefers to both practice and teach morning classes to set her day in motion from a grounded, centered and invigorated place.
